Hello Craft Loving Friends! This week is the August 23rd Showcase Challenge blog hop. Every other week, we do a project showcasing that uses products we each choose for ourselves.

August 23rd Showcase card
Front of card
Today, I have used the new Lights of Aurora Suite Collection for my card. The paper in this suite is simply stunning, although there is nothing simple about the designs.
I can’t say enough about the dies and how many ways they can be used. Between the clouds, trees, and border dies, there is no limit to the creativity this set was made for.
The card base is Garden Green. I loved the way is pulled the green from the Lost Lagoon in the Designer Series Paper. The torn papers are the two-toned Basic Black 12″ x 12″ cardstock. And of course the trees and skyline are the Lights of Aurora 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. I used one sheet to show off both side on one card.
To make the card base, I simply tore a 4″ x 5″ sheet of two toned cardstock into four pieces. I layered them, leaving room to insert the die cut trees and added the skyline once I had everything else lined up properly. The tree dies both make a 6″ tree line. I only needed them to be 4″, so I trimmed them down and used the excess on the middle row of trees. I used the 2″ and 1 3/4″ circle punches for my sentiment. The only ink I used for this card is the Tuxedo Black Memento™ ink pad.
To finish off the front of the card, I used the Frosted Iridescent Dots from this Suite.

Inside of Card
Nothing fancy here. I added a border to the side of the Basic White card stock using left over DSP from the front. Using up all of our DSP is such a challenge, but by using it to dress up the inside of our cards, we are accomplishing two things at once. Who doesn’t love that?!
