Hello Crafty Friends and thanks for joining me for the CASEing the Catalog challenge with the Stamping with Friends Blog Hop! For those who are new to crafting, let me explain what CASEing is. Most card creators who put their beautiful cards on display for the internet to oh and ah over know that their cards will most likely be the source of inspiration for someone. When I first stated with Stampin’ Up!®, I heard the term CASE and loved the concept. Copy And Share Everything! We are better crafters when we share our knowledge with each other. I loved the idea of learning more from more experienced crafters and gaining confidence through making cards other’s had shared. To me, that was the best hands on training I could get!

I picked a card from the 24-25 Annual Catalog using the Spotlight on Nature bundle from page 69. This bundle is absolutely gorgeous and I want to show it off before the retired list comes out in March. There are so many sets that get overlooked, I don’t want this set to be one of them!

I followed the example as close as I could. The background on the catalog card was water-colored on whisper white card. I am not skilled at water-coloring, so I just used the Old Olive card stock. To color the flowers, you need to stamp the image in StazOn® on the water color paper and use your blending brushes to color them in with the Berry Burst and Fresh Freesia. The leaves are blended with Old Olive. Remember, if your coloring with water based inks, use StazOn, if your coloring with alcohol based inks, use the Momento Ink®. The rest of the card really puts itself together.

Hopefully, getting a peek at some of us CASEing the catalog will inspire you to do the same. Sometimes, using other cards to get your creative juices flowing is all it takes to get over a crafting slump.
