Hello my Crafty Partners in Creativity and welcome to our June 2026 Blogger’s Choice. This month, I wanted to have some fun playing with some new products and showing the versatility of the shimmer brushes.

What I used

In the new May – August catalog, Stampin’ Up!® introduced the new Shimmer Brushes in the 2026 – 2028 In Colors™. I was able play with them at On Stage and I loved them immediately. I ordered them as soon as they were available! They really are so much fun to use!

For this card, I wanted to show you how to use the Shimmer Pens to paint the lovely Artisans Sketched Gardens Designer Series Paper. The fine tip of these brushes allows you to do small detail work and get into the small edges of the designs. I cut both sheets of the DSP in order to match it up once I punched a hole in the top sheet. I used the brushes to color in the punched out circle. The banner and butterflies are stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe and colored in with the Barely Blush Shimmer Brush on the butterflies. I used the Golden Glow Shimmer Brush to color the body of the butterflies.

The 2 leaves behind the banner are die cut out of Peaceful Pine card stock and layered to create a backdrop. I propped up the banner and butterflies with mini dimensionals. Finishing the outside of the card, I added the 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies.

Looking inside the card

On the inside, I used a 3″ x 5″ piece of Basic White card stock. I added the strip of DSP to the bottom and colored in all the images. The butterflies again are stamped with Crisp Cantaloupe and colored in with Barely Blush and Golden Glow.
