March’s POTM – SWFBH

Welcome to the March’s POTM blog hop.

Hello my Crafty Partners in Creativity and welcome to March’s POTM blog hop. Each month, if you purchase $75 US in product, you can purchase the Product of the Month for $5. February’s Product of the Month was the Painted Illusions Designer Series Paper. Because I just can’t seem to get my order in quick enough, my product of the month card will almost definitely be a month behind! lol

This month’s card is designed to show how well the Painted Illusions DSP and the Springtime Scenes bundle coordinate! I am completely thrilled with this combo and I hope I’ve done it justice!

What I used

I have labeled the items I used for my card.

March’s POTM card

Front of card

There are a lot of layers to this card. The card base is Basic Beige, with the two leaves and the small flower stamped on the sides to create a simple background to set the designer series paper on. I do not like naked edges. I added the DSP directly to the card base.

Two of the large leaves under the circle are die cut from Basic White and stamped with Pretty Peacock and Darling Duckling. The third is die cut from Flirty Flamingo and stamped in the same color. I wanted one leaf to stand out a little. To color in the leaves, I used my smallest Water Painter pen and some ink from each ink pad. The smaller leaves are die cut from Flirty Flamingo for the background die, and I cut the detailed leaves from the DSP. I had fun lining them up!

Making the Circle

For the center circle, I die cut all the circles in the set. The top layer in Flirty Flamingo, the second layer in Darling Duckling, and the third in Pretty Peacock. I glued them all together using the Multipurpose Glue, making sure to add back the smaller circle cut out from the Flirty Flamingo so it would cover the back.

In order to add the leaves to the circle, I layered the back with dimensionals and placed the leaves on the table in the arrangement I wanted them to sit, then pressed the circle on top. Next, I added the circle to the middle of the card front. I added the banner stamped in Pretty Peacock with more dimensionals.

You know a card isn’t finished without something shiny. The 2025 – 2027 In Color Flat Pearls are the perfect touch. There’s some Wink Of Stella™ in there as well on the white lines and some of the leaves.

Looking inside the card

This card needed something on the inside other than just a stamped image. I added a strip of the leftover DSP and a die cut leaf at the bottom. (Don’t tell anyone, but that leaf is hiding a smaller leaf that I tried to stamp, but it blurred.)

Pass it on

March’s POTM card took me a bit to design, but I’m sure it would be an easy card to CASE. Make someone’s day with a fun springtime card! After all, spring is right around the corner!
