Welcome to October’s Bloggers Choice Challenge blog hop.

October has arrived and we are all getting ready for the first cold snap. I always love the hint of fall because it means hoodies and hot chocolate, fire pits and pumpkin patches! Fall is my absolute favorite time of year, but unfortunately, it goes by quick and then comes winter! I pray you’re able to get as much joy out of the next few weeks before we all settle into our warm jammies and snuggle under blankies! (Time for lots of crafting and catching up on old movie favorites!)

This week’s hop is our October Blogger’s Choice and I wanted to play with the Prairie Grass set before it retires. This set is one of those that just doesn’t need a whole lot to set it up for success! I started really loving the silhouette style stamps a few years ago when I saw one done with black embossing powder on a white background. It was absolutely stunning. I would have embossed this card, but I honestly was in a rush to get it done for the hop. (Poor time management wins again.) Let’s talk about the card in detail below.

I loved the idea of having a sunset in the background. I grabbed Cloud Cover, Timid Tiger, and Darling Duckling for that. Next, I grabbed my small blending brushes and got busy making my little circles. Remember to start off the paper when you are blending with these. You don’t want a blotch on the edge of the card. Old olive was used on the bottom for a little hillside look. I didn’t want the silhouette to be black, I wanted a little shadowy feel to it, so I used Secret Sea for the image and the sentiment.

I mounted it to the Timid Tiger 2025 – 2027 In Color™ 6 x 6 Designer Series Paper and then added that to the card base. The ribbon is two pieces. I cut a smaller piece and tied it onto the long strip. It makes the ribbon lay flatter that way. I used mini glue dots to hold it on.

No one wants a blank inside, but sometimes a little goes a long way. I added just the tops of the grass on the bottom so there would be plenty of space to write a lovely little note. Again, I used the Secret Sea for more of a shadowy effect.

This stamp set really plays well with this season and can be used for thank you cards, thinking of you cards, or sympathy cards. Make a handful of them and keep them on hand. Next time you go out, take one with you and have in ready for that special someone who needs a little pick me up!
