Welcome to the Power of 3’s Challenge blog hop.

This week’s hop is our Power of 3’s challenge! We had to use 3 images, 3 papers, and 3 embellishments. What a creative way to encourage us to use a little more of ours stash than we might normally use!

This week I got in the Friendly Foliage Bundle from the new November Online Exclusives preorder. When I say this bundle is fabulous, that’s not a strong enough word! The frame dies are amazing. I was nervous to try to line them up, but I got it the first time. (That NEVER happens for me!) The images are so delicate and soft. I am 100% not selling this bundle when it retires!

What I used

Front of card

You might have noticed that the card front is made from a retired die set, Countryside Corners. I actually used some scrap paper I had stashed away. It was perfect for the framing of this beautiful new die set. I wanted the framed foliage to sit in the middle of the card but not get lost in the Designer Series Paper I used on the background. Is it cheating to use scraps from retired dies? Maybe, but I love showing that you can use up your scraps and still make gorgeous cards!

The card base is Mossy Meadow and I layered that with a sheet of the Beautiful Gallery 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Next, the frame from the Countryside Corners was added. Then I stamped my foliage image and die cut it out. I added more of the same DSP to the back of the die cut frame. I popped that onto the card with dimensionals. The sentiment is on a strap piece of Crumb Cake card stock backed by a scrap piece of Basic Beige card stock. I die cut a branch that was stamped on some scrap Basic Beige card stock and stuck in in the middle of the other branches to break up the Mossy Meadow a little. All four corners are stamped with the small brand stamp in all 3 colors. Finally, I added the Flower Accents to the corners for the finishing touch.

Looking inside the card

Again, the inside of our cards should have a little something added, too. Nothing too major, we want some white space to write on. However, it’s nice to see some of the front continue through to the inside. I simply added the small branch at the bottom using Crumb Cake.
