Hello, Crafty Friends and welcome to the Retiring 2022 – 2024 In Colors™ blog hop! This week, we are highlighting the Stampin’ Up!® In Colors that are leaving us next month. It will be hard to say goodbye, but we have a few weeks left to really enjoy them. Which one are you going to miss the most? For me, it will be Orchid Oasis. I’m not a fan of most purples, but this one had enough blue in it that it grew on me.
I know it’s been a bit since I was on the blog, so this was a fun one to jump on and get back into the swing of things. I managed to use all 5 colors on the card and showcase how perfectly they all compliment each other.
For the stamp set, I decided to sneak in a new stamp set that we got at On Stage. This set is going to be a favorite, I’m sure! The flowers are fun to color in and there are 2 background stamps to add texture to your cards. Of course, there are dies to go with it, but I didn’t want to use those this time. I wanted the In Colors to stand out, not the stamps.
For the stamped images, I used sponge daubers to add the color. I used Sweet Sorbet for the flowers, Parakeet Party for the stems and leaves, Starry Sky for the sentiment, Orchid Oasis, Tahitian Tide, and Starry Sky on the butterfly. Once I stamped the flower image, I went back over it with Blender Pens to smear the color around to give the flower and leaves a more complete look. I added some Wink of Stella to the butterfly to make it stand out. (Yes, that is currently out of stock due to manufacturing issues, but I hear it’s coming back soon!!!) I added the “thanks” sentiment at an angle so it would be straight once I tilted my paper.
Once I had the images all stamped and colored, I stamped the texture image on the Sweet Sorbet in Sweet Sorbet. I love the color on color look. It gives a subtle background to the cardstock upstaging the card front. I added a Tahitian Tide strip to the card base, then added the Sweet Sorbet card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals™. Next, I added the Parakeet Party strip to the top of that, just under the Tahitian Tide. Finally, I added the Basic White card stock to the finish off the card. Once I was done, I knew it needed a little something extra so I added the Flat Adhesive Backed Pearls. Every card needs its jewelry!
On the inside of the card, I stamped the butterfly and some texture images and added a strip of Tahitian Tide card stock.
