Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to 2023!! How on earth is it already a new year? It feels like it was just June a few days ago! Time sure flies when you’re having fun! To start the new year off on the right foot, our blog hop will be doing something fun.
The first blog hop of the month is going to be a technique hop. Every demo gets to show their take on how to do a selected technique. I’m really excited for this, since it will help showcase all the talent that we have on our hop, and it will help keep your card making skills sharp.
The technique we will be showcasing this month is Emboss Resist. In case you haven’t heard of it, this is how you do it.
- Ink up the stamp you want to use with VersaMark and stamp the image on Basic White card stock. This can either be the card base or some card stock you’ll adhere after you’ve embossed it.
- Cover the image with white embossing powder and use the heat tool until the embossing powder is shiny.
- Now, you can use the blending brushes, sponge daubers, watercolor pencils, or other coloring tools you’d like, make sure to color over and around the entire embossed image. (The more color you add, the better the white image will stand out.)
- After coloring, you should wipe off the embossed image so that the white embossed image to show through.
- Finally, finish building your card, and that’s it!

In addition to showing off the technique, I wanted to showcase one of the new Sale-a-bration stamps sets, In The Country. It’s so lovely and really did suite this technique well. Since it’s been so cold and dreary here, I loved the warm feeling this card had. If you like this set, be sure to order it quickly, because Sale-a-bration items are while supplies last.

Now, it’s time to see the other cards in the hop. Click next or click on Helen’s link.
