Hello Crafty Friends and welcome to the Tic Tac Toe Challenge – SWFBH for this weeks blog hop with our Stamping Friends! :D It’s been a few weeks since I was able to join in, so I’m excited to play along. Linda comes up with some of the best challenges and this week is no different. This week, she created a Tic Tac Toe board and we had to pick three items from it to make our cards. I chose the top line, seeing that yellow is my favorite color!
I haven’t used the Sentimental Park stamp set until today. I’m not even sure when I ordered it, but I haven’t been able to craft for a few weeks. Life loves to toss craft barriers into the way of my fun! Hopefully, at the end of March, life will start to get back to normal and I’ll be back to my crafty self.
The color combo of yellow and gray is such a go to for me, and a part of me wishes that I had picked a different color to compliment the yellow. It came together nicely, but I bet it could have popped it some more.
The card is pretty simple, but sometimes, simple is all you need to make someone’s day! I used Lemon Lolly and Smoky Slate. I used it for as the card stock and the ink colors. Next, I added the Basic White on the inside for the sentiment.
For the flower stamped on the vellum, I decided the Lemon Lolly wasn’t dark enough, so I went ahead and used Daffodil Delight so it would show up. I love stamping on vellum, but remember to set it dry or it’s going to smear. Unless that’s the look you’re going for, go for it! I wanted this one to be crisp and clean looking.
As far as this Tic Tac Toe challenge goes, I really think the best part was being able to pick how I wanted to do the card, but within parameters. It made the card making process easier. Perhaps, you can copy the tic tac toe board and make a card for yourself! :D
