Sweet Succulents

Hello my Crafting Friends!

How many cards do you make with only dies? I never thought about doing that when I first started stamping. I thought I had to use stamp sets, ink, and paper… with the occasional die or embellishment. Now, I really try to work outside the box of preconceived ideas of what I thought a hand made card looked like. Don’t limit yourself to what you see me or other card makers do. If you see something in your mind that you think would work, do it. The worst thing that happens is that you spend some time crafting and learn something new.

Today’s card really didn’t take a long time to make and would be a great card for a friend invite. The items I used are Whisper White card stock, Granny Apple Green card stock, Granny Apple Green classic Stampin’ pad, Highland Heather Stampin’ Pad , and the Oh So Ombre DSP. I used Blending Brushes, and the Potted Succulents die set with the Simply Succulent stamp set for the sentiment.

To create the shadowed effect, I used the Blending Brushes over the full paged succulent die on Whisper White card stock, First, I used the Highland Heather ink on the inside, then I used the Granny Apple Green on the outside. I die cut out the die on the Oh So Ombre DSP, layering it over the Whisper White card stock, placed on the card at an angle to off set it from the die. I used the labels in the die set, the larger one on the green side of the Oh so Ombre DSP and the small one on the Whisper White card stock. I stamped the sentiment in Highland Heather.

Having a card already planned out will help get you started with getting your crafting on. Crafting is a great way to keep your mind busy, but not overwhelmed. Plus, you’ll be passing the joy on to your friends in the form of a thank you or a girl’s day in.

Until next time, Happy Crafting!
