Hello My Crafty Friends! I am so happy to have you joining me again! With everything going on, I am sure a trip around all the crafting blogs is a much needed mental break.
In case you didn’t know, this past weekend was our annual crafting conference for Stampin’ Up! called OnStage. Talk about a needed break! I was on happiness overload because of all the wonderful items that they have coming out in January with our new Mini Catalog.
This card is made with a new stamp set, Enjoy the Moments, that is in the new catalog. I loved the name, because it reminds me that that is what crafting helps me do. I enjoy the moments of peace and quiet, with no need to think about the craziness that is going on around us right now.
Now, to be honest, I didn’t like this set at first look… or second. And, really, I am still working on falling in love with it. But, after using it, I don’t hate it and I can see a few more possibilities for using it.
With this card, I wanted to use the the Gilded Autumn Specialty Designer Series Paper (DPS) because I loved the fact that it really went well with the leaves. I liked the idea of doing a monochromatic card, using only the Mint Macaron card stock and ink. The Whisper White card stock stands out and accents the Whisper White in the DSP. I loved that the Champagne Rhinestone Basic Jewels really paired up well, I just needed something to bring it all together, so I used the Early Espresso Faux Suede ribbon. The corners being rounded is just one of those little added pretties that I feel makes the card. I really hope the never retire the Detailed Trio Punch. The watercolor pencils don’t have the Mint Macaron, so I used Balmy Blue. I’m not excited about how it turned out, but it wasn’t horrible. Plus, using the pencils reminded me that I need to order some new Blender Pens.
Take some time today to make your own card and see how much more relaxed you feel just having taken some time to focus on being calm. Then, make taking care of your mind a priority, and send your cards out to help someone else focus on something happy as well!
I hope to see you back here soon, and until then, Happy Crafting!
