2023 Mini Catalog Preview- Stamping With Friends Blog Hop

Stamping With Friends Blog Hop banner

Hello Crafty Friends! Welcome to this week’s blog hop, 2023 Mini Catalog Preview.

We are about to welcome a new Mini catalog and the Sale-A-Bration catalog. As such, we wanted to introduce you to a few of the new sets you’ll be able to purchase very soon. Starting January 4th, the new items will be available to buy, and it will be the beginning of the Sale-A-Bration earning period.

While going through the hop, you might want to have a note pad handy to make your wish list. The early bird will get the worm on these sets. Please remember, we are still facing supply chain issues and slower than normal shipping times. You want to order as quickly as possible.

My card was made with the Way to Grow stamp set. I fell in love with this set the first time I saw it. There are so many options and it will be so easy to represent anyone you are wanting to cheer up. I love the diversity this set offers. The Natural Tones Stampin’ Blends will be a huge bonus when using this set. You’re going to be making cards for everyone on your list now!

I started with Stampin’ Up!® because of the fun I had making the projects my first demo showed me. I stayed because I saw myself growing in creativity and learning how to use all my products in fun new ways. This set brought back the fun for me. I loved coloring all the elements and incorporating the person I was making the card for.

Tips for using this set:

  1. Start with the pants. It’s easier to line everything up with them rather than starting at the top.
  2. The show stamp includes her calves. Make sure you color both the shoe and her leg.
  3. You can use the long hair stamp to add highlights to the short hair style. Using a lighter hair color will make the highlights easier to see.
  4. For demos: the purse is Very similar to the 2022 On Stage bag.
  5. Watch the line for her waist. It can easily be mistaken for the bag edge.
  6. The plants are layerable, use a darker ink on the smaller image for each type of plant.
  7. I used my Stampin’ Write marker to give the pants more of a blue jean look. Inking up on the pad makes the image a lot darker and filled out.

This really was simple card, minus trying to get everything lined up. Being a perfectionist, that’s a task in itself. The only other special feature is that I blended the Perfectly Penciled paper with the Balmy Blue, Mossy Meadow, and Cajun Craze. To me, it tied the DSP to the card a little more. Feel free save this card so you can CASE it once you order your set!

Now, it’s time to hop on over to Susan’s blog to see what she’s showcasing for this preview. Be sure to complete the loop and feel free to leave comments to let us know what you think!

Until next time,

Stay Crafty, Friends!
